Neighbourhood plan Radcliffe on Trent 2026

Why are we doing this now?

Our current Neighbourhood Plan has served us well, but the world of planning is constantly changing. With new government policy shifts and national planning reforms, it is vital that we refresh our local “rulebook.”

By updating our plan, we ensure that Radcliffe-on-Trent remains in the driving seat. An out-of-date plan is a weak plan; by refreshing our vision, we strengthen our ability to influence what gets built, where it goes, and crucially, how it looks.

What is a Neighbourhood Plan?

In simple terms, a Neighbourhood Plan is a planning document that gives us, the community, a say in the future of our local area. Once finalised and passed, it becomes a statutory document that Rushcliffe Borough Council must use when deciding on planning applications in our area.

It is your chance to help define:

  • Design & Character: Ensuring new developments respect our parish’s unique architecture and history.
  • Green Spaces: Protecting the environments that make our parish feel like home.
  • Infrastructure: Setting out the needs of our community so that development brings improvements, not just extra pressure.
  • Local Control: Making sure that when we grow, we do so in a way that respects the existing community.
