Have you heard of Himalayan Balsam?? Did you know it’s an invasive species?? Can you help us?? “🌸 Join our Balsam Bashing sessions 🌸 Himalayan balsam might look attractive, but it spreads rapidly and crowds out our native plants, reducing habitat for wildlife and leaving riverbanks bare and prone to erosion later in the year. By helping remove it before it sets seed, you will be taking direct action to protect local biodiversity and improve the health of our green spaces. Come along for a relaxed drop-in session between 10am and 12pm on Saturday 13th & Saturday 27th June. Stay for as little or as long as you like and get involved at your own pace. Please bring and wear:• Gardening gloves• A drink to stay hydrated• Long trousers and long sleeves to protect against nettles and scratches No experience is needed, and guidance will be provided on the day. It’s a great way to spend time outdoors, meet others, and support invasive species control in your local area. We would love to see you there 🌿” ... See MoreSee Less

Local resident Chris Smith restores Community Totem Pole.Chris has spent weeks restoring the Totem Pole in Radcliffe on Trent to its original creation. Chris kindly carved and donated the Totem Pole to the Village in May 2013.In recent weeks, Chris has spent hours repairing and repainting the Totem Pole. When asked why, Chris said, “Originally I carved and donated the pole to commemorate 50 years since the Canadians left Radcliffe On Trent. This was an important part of my childhood and I am keen that those fond memories we all have are not forgotten."The Radcliffe on Trent Parish Council would like to thank Chris on behalf of everyone in Radcliffe for his generosity and outstanding efforts.rotparishcouncil.gov.uk/local-resident-chris-smith-restores-community-totem-pole/ ...
